My dad had this 72 VW bus back when I was a teenager and I used to take it out when he wasn't around and try to pop wheelies with it. I would put it in reverse, floor it and go as fast as I could backwards, grind the crap out of 1st gear getting it in, then mat it and dump the clutch. My friends said I would get close but I just never quite got the wheels off. And my dad would complain it didn't run right almost every time he drove it after those stunts (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif) Just one of the many reasons I am not having kids... and why I think parents should be allowed to beat their kids every once in a while (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) I deserved a serious (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/slap.gif) on plenty occassions. |

I love VW busses, but I never thought they could do that - although most bus owners I know ARE crazy enough to want to!

Had a '76 bus and with a new clutch I could get the front wheels off the ground.
Had a friend nearly crap himself when I took it around a corner on 2 wheels. Kind of amazing that I'm still here to drive the hell out of another unsuspecting type IV. Hee, hee. Makes me giggle every time I think about it. I'll kill my kid if he ever pulls anything like that. (yeah, I'm a hypocrite. Wanna see my membership card?) |

I had a '79 automatic, can't get too crazy with that. I did catch a little air once though.

Yes! Show me the card - and how do I sign up? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) I just know my "little angle" is going to want to do all of the stupid crap I did. At least I know what to expect from him - my wife has no clue, it would be reversed if we had a girl. |
