I have a set of 6 cyl, 2.0L heads already cut for 2.7 P & C. with new guides and and some new vavles. that I was going to be putting on Ebay but 914 guys first.Drop me a line for pics.

Chris, rather than continue to incorrectly answer these questions, just refer people to Anderson's book and keep quiet. All the details are there, they've been researched, and everyone messing with 911 engines should have a copy. You're only adding to the confusion.

There is 2.0 counterweighted crank, was used in all engines except the T. Same crank was used in the 2.2. Another crank, counterwieghted, was used throughout the 2.4 and 2.7 production run. It is the same blank of a crank as that used for the 2.0 and 2.2, but with the rod journals machined a little smaller and a little further away from the crank's axis, resulting in a longer stroke.
You should really get Anderson's book, it is fun to read and has pictures of all these parts. |

I know some 914-6 owners who have kept their oringinal 6 and then fitted a larger 6. Might be the best bet as you have non-counter-weighted crank cast-iron cylinders. Might work out uneconomical to rebuild it to say 'S' spec

hi there mr andersons book is already on order, should get it in a week or so,, the reason here is that i want to rebuild the 2.0 to run and look original,, I still have 6 month to a year to rebuild the engine , so i will be oportunistic in finding stuff to rebuild, i will be rebuilding my self for most of it ,,, (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif) when i have the book (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif) so if heads need to be machined, thats out ,, of whatever else need to be done by some machinst thats out too,, only bolt on
