has anyone torn down one of these pads ? just wondering how the studs are embedded.

or does anyone have a suggestion on how to repair pad?

do you think i can drill out old stud and screw in a course(wood) x fine thread lag and actually have it hold? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

I have removed pads from bumpers that had the broken stud drilled and a screw inserted.
