I've bought a set of new aftermarket aluminum threshold plates to replace my black plastic ones. (no attachment harware is sold with these). What have you used to attach them in lieu of the black plastic rivets?--stainless screws...rivets (what size?) I'm not to sure how good rivets will look.
Much appreciated,

I'm pretty sure the black plastic rivets are avialble, I think Demick posted a link.....I think alum, rivets would look better, available with a tool at most all hardware places.....you need to measure the hole diameter (use a drill bit) and you need to know the total thickness of the plate and the sheetmetal to which it'll attach to (I'd say 1/8" max)....a rivet with a "reach" of 1/4" to 3/8" should work fine.

I just installed some of those great looking Alu. threshold plates with pop rivets. They work fine and unless you are a CW then I don't think it matters. Be sure to lay down a coat of wax before installing , so that any H2O will slide out.

I wanted close to original for the early cars which had aluminum sill plates. I found some white plastic rivets at ACE hardware. They press in by hand and hold very well. Not exactly like the factory NLA white rivets, but pretty close. Easy to remove without damaging the plates.

I was able to find some white plastic rivits that were very close to the originals. They look pretty good too.

Lots of great ideas. Does anyone have a picture of using screws or stainless rivets to hold a threshold plate down--I'm visual? Both offer definite advantages and disadvantages.
Thanks
