alright...here we go
I have a 1.7L engine with 1.7/1.8 style HE's and some 'manta' exhaust on it? AnYwAy, if i'm going ANY higher than like 3250RPM then its *LOUD* and i'm not talking about engine sound (i dont think). I got a lead on a stock-style exhaust from a buddy of mine, and I was wondering: 1)Would I expect to see a performance decline on my 1.7 due to installing this other exhaust? 2)Would it be any quieter? This engine runs like a champ at 4000RPM in 4th doing like 75, but between my engine and my hearing (i'm a big music guy--dont play, just listen) i'd rather keep my hearing. b |

oh yeah, this manta exhaust is rusting to pieces (layers of rust scraped off with a putty knife every so often)

Yea.. that is part of the fun of owning a 914... cruise through a parking deck blipping the throttle and see how many car alarms start going off.. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) |

I like setting off alarms just like everyone else, and no doubt i'll miss the exhaust notes, but its pretty rusted AND it makes my ears ring....
its only one car for me...either a 914 (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif) or something else (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) b |
