Nice shot of the cars Joe. Man, isn't it great to have this kind of weather the first weekend in March?

And is faster on the twisty back road out to the highway. Although I did have home court advantage.

Pulled Fred to 110 from 20 mph rolling start middle of 2nd gear. He was set up (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/lol2.gif)

Then we did a drop the hammer from 1st gear at about 5 MPH That white car freaking shot out of the hole I missed 2nd gear and he was GONE!!!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)

Had a great big left hand sweeper with an elevation change that shift into a tight right hand merging onto the highway. Again home court advantage score ended up being Fred can go fast and crap in a straight line. The Racer can go fast everywhere else. Must be the new Yellow fenders.

OH MY GOD!!!
Why in the F*** is he using that sorry, POS Supertrapp??

If he would just listen and buy a REAL exhaust system the power would finally be freed up..

That Supertrapp is costing him 15 ponies, at least!

Gimme an afternoon with that engine and a couple of parts and I''ll get 20 more ponies out of it than he has right now....

Well I did re adjust his timing, was retarded a pretty good bit. Not realizing he was running 9.5:1 compression I hada it a degree or so too much, came back to the house backed up the timing and all is good. I also balanced his carbs and reset the idle.
He has one of your Mallory distributors. the header is a Euro race

And yes I now and even more happy with my Tangerine.

They don't get much worse then that header... The Supertrapp makes it more horrible..

All that money spent to be wasted to exhaust....

It happens all the time.... I bet it drinks gas like a funnel.

Yea look close at the rear end of the white car. kinda smokey all over. His A/F meter was showing around 14 ish :1 running around at normal speeds. I was hanging on too much when my foot went down to look at the gauge for WOT (main gas jet) reading. Really curvy road. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mueba.gif)
Wonder what a Borla muff would do?

The AFR was showing lean but the engine was more than likely running rich...

That happens when the exhaust is restrictive enough to heat the mixture up in the exhaust system and burn the mixture... The EGT is high enough to do this easily, especially at part throttle at cruise speeds around peak torque.

AFR meters are not all they are cracked up to be, if somnething in the stream has a bit of an exhaust lean they will pick it up, it can be as minute as where the header slips together.

With that header his engine won't ever be tuned correctly... All the work I did to design an efficient combo is being wasted all for an exhaust system.

I still think you should GIVE me a 2316 (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) I know what to do with it.

Perfectly tuned or not Fred's car Pull's pretty good.

Do you not like the euro race headers? Which versions have you tested? Or is it just the muffler that sucks?

The Euro Race was never designed or tested on an efficient larger than stock engine and it shows...

Freds car would be so much better with an efficient exhaust system.

Rubber is for racing, (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) and the rubber is plenty big enough on the rims I got from you. Thanks. 225/45-15 Hoosiers A3SO4 (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/burnout.gif)

Come on you can fit a 9.5 in slick under those flares. That car will look like a steam roller from the back with those tires. Slicks are fun on the street but you didn't hear that from me.
