What is the narrowist white walled tires that I can put on the factory 4 lug Fuchs, I want to use the same size on the front too. I don't want to use Radial tires, I was thinking something along the 4 ply bias type made by Firestone. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

That's what I want. The smallest contact patch I can obtain.. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif)

I'm sure that they were in some street tire class where you have to overinflate anyway to keep the sidewalls up.

I've done this...running 135/70-15 on a 6 inch rim. Lowered bug guys do this if they're too poor to do the front end the right way. (narrow the front beam)

I've also see guy running 125/?-15 tempory spares on the front. Low-tech.

I'm not sure if this was directed at me but:

On the face of it those tires on those rims at that pressure may seem ridiculous but it was a case of using what was available at the time.

The choice of hi performance tires at that time was limited. None exisited for a narrow 4.5" rim. The high pressures kept the tire from deforming during cornering, standard procedure for autocrossing is to increase tire pressure. If some tire contact patch was sacrificed by the high pressure in my setup the overall traction was still higher than any non "R" compound street tire.
