is it a sideshift or tailshift trans?

either way... it CAN be welded up.....
if its a tailshift, you can find a new cover from somewhere...

if its a sideshift, you can use a tailshift cover, and block off and seal the shift mechanism thing... and use that rear cover

which part?

the "mount" simply bolt's on and off...just get a new one (911 sport mounts work good or the wevo one)

if it's the tranmission "ear", you've got a pain to deal with, not many people can weld it....

take a picture, your description sounds "odd" at best (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)
