There is a department (in Texas I think...not sure) that the union local (IAFF) took a old truck and turned it into a BBQ....open the side doors and the BBQ areas were there...open the other doors and those areas were turned into coolers. They use it for picknicks and such....

Thanks for the heads-up Craig but I think one of these is the most I can handle. Unlike the 914, it is expensive to operate. Like the 914 (or any classic for that matter), you are far better off spending as much as your budget can afford to get a good example. Resto is always more expensive than you figured when you looked the first time. This one sounds as if it is in need of major surgery. It is also 16 years older than mine. When I got mine, it needed a front hub (original was cracked). It took two weeks and $500 to locate one in Mississippi. Good luck on their front end rebuild. I'll pass on this "opporunity."
