QUOTE (balljoint @ Mar 9 2006, 09:13 PM)
I used to keep a full roll of duct tape as a cup holder on the transmission bump on the floor of my truck. When the roll was new it would hold a full Tim Horton's coffee cup or a pop can perfectly. Unfortunately, as the roll got used up in everyday duct-tape-type usage (you know how it is), it became lighter and lighter and eventually it would only help roll a half full beverage container across the floor and smash it open against the passenger door when I made a too-sharp left hand turn. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) Then I would have to go get a new one.

Red Green would love you!

Just use the duct tape to tape the empty Tim's cup to whatever you want. Bingo! Instant cup holder.

So far the only solution that I have seen that works is the duct tape.

I'm talking about a real permanent solution for drinks that want to wonder away from the driver when they are subjected to lateral g forces...

Here's another design that fits well between the center console and passenger seat.

This is what I have. Works good.

Seriously, I saw a post somewhere a while ago where someone used a floppy disc, cut a hole in it and mounted in their dash ashtray somehow. I can't remember who it was, but I'll do a search and see if I can find it.

The one I use is similar except it cost $5.95 on e-bay .....screws right to the passenger side of the console....folds flat when not in use.....works great.....sorry no pics.
Go to e-bay motors type in cup holders and presto there they are.

Most of the boating/marine supply stores carry those for about the same price. Save yourself the postage.
