THANKS guys!!! OK jim!! sorry about that, my memory is about as long as my ...... hair!!! (-: randal, i didn't get the results so i don't know about beck, maybe they will have the results up on the HSR site soon. brokenmoped, sorry, i'm not sure about the price, but it wasn't cheap!! zach, i'm using a canon eos 20D body, the tele pics were with the canon 600mm f.4 AF, most were shot with a 1.4x converter, the pan shots were with the canon 70-200mm f.2.8 IS AF, with either the 1.4x or a 2.0x converter. |

They also squared off the leading edge to form a sort of spoiler/air damn. I noticed the valence on this car when Doug posted historic photos from Daytona earlier. Once when talking to one of the Brumos mechanics, he told me that they do sell fiberglass parts. I don't know about price or quality though. Doug, Thanks for the great photos as usual. I sure do enjoy seeing them. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) |

Thanks for posting the pics Doug.
A friend of mine used to own the 714 car and I got to drive it a couple of time before he sold it. It's a great car. brokenmoped; the white car is owned by a friend of mine, Brian and Anita Canfield. It's wicked fast. One of the only 914's that have seen keep up with and pass a Brumos 914. They have around $140K in it but I think they are asking mid 60's. I believe Brady at the 901 Shop in Stuart, Florida is storing it for them. I wish I had the $, I'd jump all over it. |

Are you sure that is the Canfield's car? I didn't think it had GT flares, but it has been a while since I've seen it. Do they still run the -4? P |

wow, just awesome shots. It is great to have someone that can contribute such great shots to this site!! Especially the rear ones. Check out the negative camber on the insider rear tire (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) Great to see some 914s in action, especially under cornering loads!!! The semi-trailing arms all have this...

The rear camber is totally dependent upon tire needs. you've got to figure that all of these guys are serious enough to make modifications to aquire what ever negative camber their tires demand. I know I have -2.8 negative camber at all 4 corners (but it took a lot of hard work to get it.) maybe I misunderstood your above post, but the reason these cars show all of that negative rear camber is because they need it to be faster and make their tires work... (I wish it was an inherent property of the rear trailing arm, because we would all be faster if it was) On the other hand, most slicks require nearly 0. brant |

I know you run neg camber to make corners - I have neg camber on my car as well. The issue is there is almost no positive camber gain on rebound, so the inside tire, though not completely loaded, has a decent amount of load on it attemting to steer the back end out. Camber gain on the outer, which does happen, is great (the downside being the sweeping toe angle associated with the arms).
In the end, really doesn't matter I guess because the suspension hardly moves on a race car anyway, so static camber would almost be what you see. I just noticed that there was some serious camber on that inner rear through the corner, which is not advantageous to the situation. But the body roll that would be required to positive camber isn't either (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif) |
