I've got a line on a completely rebuilty longblock 2.7 built to RS specs. New Mahle P's&C's. I'm actually second in line so I'll find out this weekend. So I'm doing a littly Desktop Dyno profiling. I have my old motor profile in it with the parts I put in (120/104 cams, Weber 40's, 10.5:1 JE's).

I need the cam specs to compare it. I already have a simulation with my old spec engine running JP's 9.7:1 Shasta pistons.

For you vultures out there......this engine isn't advertised in EBAY or the bird board... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

you're crossing boundaries there...

the "real" 2,7RS existed in '72 and '73. by '74, the RS and RSR were based on the 3,0 engine the US didn't get until 1977.

(the '73-'74 RSR was a transitional phase with the 2,8 engine...)

the 2,7RS was considered an evolution of the 2,4S and used the same cams. the injection pump and distributor were modified, as was static timing, and of course the pistons and cylinders were different.

Bill P.

Nopers. Solex.
I was talked out of S cams by Steve Weiner.
At the time, the motor was a street/AX motor.
S cams (per Steve) have tuning issues with carbs...mostly involving fuel reversion and they don't come on the bump till 4k or so. Considering that the majority of street driving is done on the idle circuit.....who needs the hassle. I had enuff tuning problems with the Solex grind to last me for about 6 mos. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
They come on about 500 rpm sooner also. Both E & Solex grinds give up top end for better mid range.....AX territory.

S & better grinds are tha cats ass for track work, me thinks.
