now, are you getting power to the fuel pump? if not, find power. The quick N dirty method is to borrow +12V from the coil.. where is your fuel pump? Sometimes, during the carb conversion (which I have personally wasted money on--that single carb is NOT efficient at all) the fuel pump is moved up front. Sometimes meaning almost every time. Those carb pumps are great pusher pumps, but not real good puller pumps. b |

another thing to do is check (if your pump runs) if the bowl is gettign fuel...you'll see the tip top of the bowl if you take off that plate where the filter sits on.
cycle the linkage to see if fuel squirts out of the accelerator circuit nozzles. if you're going to keep this carb for ANY period of time, I would suggest searching for weber DGEV carb (E for electric choke) for tuning instructions and what-not. Redline is the online source for weber parts BTW. Mine was rebuilt when I got it, they arent hard to work on, just takes some time and patience and a methodical approach... fuel anywhere in hte carb is good. If your buddy truly rebuilt the carb, I would suggest searching Redline for BaseLine settings. The adjustment screw is in the back of the carb, and the idle adjustment is on the side. If you do NOT own a stubby flathead screwdriver, you'll need to purchase one if you do any setting up on this carb. b |
