I am having my '72 3.0 sc conversion car flared with GPR steel fenders. Question is what options do I have when choosing new wheels. I currently have 7 inch fuchs that I will likely be selling. Weight will be high on my list when choosing new wheels , the car is a DE /weekend car. Here's a link to the car before flares. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread....threadid=238716

a lot of GT flared cars run 16x7 Fuchs up front with a 1" spacer and 16x8 Fuchs in the rear (225 and 245)
what is your realistic budget? are you willing to go up to 17" or 18" rims? just one set of rims and tires for everything or can you deal with street tires and track only tires?? |

What size rims? 15", 16", 17", 18"?
15 & 16 will weigh less. 17 & 18 will give you more tire choices. I run 16 x 8's for the street and 16 x 8's & 9's for the track. |

I'm thinking 16 inch re: can clear 930 brakes if I ever upgraded. I also like the look if a smaller wheel on a 33 year old car. What are the non fuch options to end up with 16x8 and nines. For now I'd like to use of set of rims for everything. Budget?? $1500 btw will my 15x7's work up frnt and look for 15x8's for the rear. If so where should I look for the 8's.

I'm 90% positive that true 930 brakes fit under a 15" wheel..... it's harder to find 16" tires to fit 9" rims....255's are made, but they are normally in the 50 series and might be on the tall side, not sure what diameter you want to run, so look into tire selections 1st. yes, you could use your 15x7 up front, I'd run a 1" spacer so the wheels don't look "lost" in the wheel well... |

245/45 will fit on a 9" wheel ... but i agree, wider tires for 15 or 16 wheels are hard to find these days ... btw. i'm still looking for a set of 285/40 x 16 street tires. *ANY* brand will do! HELP! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool_shades.gif) Andy |

If someone had 15 x 6" Fuchs, would it then stand to reason that 2" spacers could be used to fill the flares?
