BAD TUB got the CHP stamp of approval last night......got it's assigned VIN # and I gots my appointment with the BAR (Smog weenies). They want a base line even though it's exempt from smog checks and control.

Took it out on the road last night with an anal probe up the dump tube off of the turbo. Dialed in (as much as possible) the best a/f mix while driving under load.....the wide band 02 meter worked well and I've dialed in 5lbs of boost after putting 500 miles on the new motor......another 500 and I'll try for 8 lbs....anymore and I'll consider an intercooler.

Got so excited I waxed my tub last night in the garage under lights....now it's a shiny ten foot paint job... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

After BAR....off to the cretins at DMV and PLATES!!!!!!!!!!

Is this the 356 that you painted with a 2-inch paintbrush?

Why would you turbo it? You can put a chopped down 911 motor in there. Then you've atleast got overhead cams to work with.

Kids these days.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif)

Mike, you just chopped a regualr 356 for that, right? Please say that you wouldn't do that to a real speedster. How much dondo did you use in the rest of the car?

And the chopped 911 engines don't cost 20 grand IF YOU DO IT YOURSELF!!! Kids these days. Jeeze.

Hey Aaron.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif)

Back when I was growing up, I learned that you have to have three times the skill base to play on the level with someone who has twice your pocketbook.

I learned that playing paintball. And it carries over everywhere.
Cost for Aaron Cox to chop a 6= 20,000$ plus time waiting for it to get done
Cost for Alpha to chop a 6=500$ plus time to get it done.

Looks like that Vocational degree will pay itself off.

you and this "if you do it yourself BS"...how many people can do it or have access to the equipment??? if it was that easy, YOU do it and sell 'em for half that price (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif)

and even if YOU could do it, you'd end up spending 10K in parts and labor easily....
