I saw this in the news and wondered how bad was traffic across the bridge?

traffic across the bridge was a breeze. there wasn't any. crane tipped at 3:30am. the bridge opened around 5pm. the crane operator must have freaked as the equipment started to lay on it's side and the boom hung over the drop. everybody my wife works with, that live on the other side, either phoned in to say they were staying home or were about 3 hours late.

I think a lot of people just bagged it and stayed home. I can imagine the crane drivers face when it started tipping over though. Yikes! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)

An hour and 40 minutes to go 13 miles. Oh well. You guys notice that the outriggers are not extended. The idiot didn't lower the pads. He tried to lift a load on the wheels only. I got through there about 7 AM. I've never seen so many guys looking around with their hands in their pockets. There was a pretty foul odor there. I suspect there might have been a biohazard spill in the cab. I bet that's going to cost the company a fair penny and the guys at WISHA will be puffing up their chests.
