I've got a 73 2L and I'd like to mount the fuel pump on the sheetmetal blister that the later models use (75,76). I've got the blister and the right FP (one in, one out) but I'd like to place it in the same location that the factory used. Would anyone be willing to take a picture and annotate it with some dimensions? Is the FP below the bottom of the tank when mounted in this position? All I've seen is figure 2.19 in the Haynes manual.

I previously relocated my 3 port FP to the front but mounted it under the tank. That's a bad place for maintainance purposes. Now I'd like to improve things a bit. I gather that near the steering rack is another common spot to place the FP. I don't know why I ended up in the space under the tank, perhaps because the 3 port FP is fatter than the 2 port.
