What dizzy do you have?
Vacuum advance or not??? Check for over-advanced ignition timing. Too much spark advance can cause cylinder pressures to rise too rapidly. If resetting the timing to stock specifications doesn't help, retarding the timing a couple of degrees . The dizzy advance plates could be stuck, or filled with crap... Take them out, clean an regrease. Rich |

you have what dizzy?
The advance curve may not be right for your car. You need to look for the number on the side of the dizzy... If its a bosch..the last three numbers will tell you what you have...050 or 009 If any other number...put the whole number here.. You can re-curve a dizzy, but its easier to get the right one. Rich |

you need either a mallory or a 050 to get even close to right...
The thing heats up and pings...its to far advanced. Rich |
