I paid 19.99 for it at best buy and thats what I want for it. My POS computer is to old and I dont want to update it because the kids screw it up all the time and I would hate to have them mess up a good computer. What is your computer configuration? processor Disk space/free space memory Video card/video card memory? If you get a good video card, it usually fixes the problem with games...get as much on board memory as possible. You can move the video card to your new computer some day also. Rich |

Its an old HP Pavilion 8770C that is SOOO SLOOW They have put stuff on here we can not get off. When I go to start it up it takes about 5 min. and when the home page comes up it puts it up 1/4 of the screen at a time.

you have memory issues...
I can help you over the phone to make your machine faster, and get rid of all the programs you dont want. If you want, no prob.. First, find and collect all your word/excel/powerpoint documents...you will put them all in one directory. We would back those up..lots of ways to do it... We would then remove basically every program, and re-install the windows operating system.. Its not that hard to do, and for many reasons...way to many..you need to do a fresh install on a windows machine every so often..I do it once per year... You will be suprised how for just time, and no money..you will have a faster machine... Be happy to help if you need advise/phone help etc. Rich |

how much free disk space do you have?
Defrag needs memory and free disk space..typically it will run with 6-10% free space, but it runs better wih over 15% free disk space...it needs it. Given that...if its really messed up...you need to create as much free space as possible... The easy one is MSOffice... find all your personal files.. save those, back them up. go here start>control panel>add remove programs Look at the list, find the biggest ones, and remove them. Then defrag..typically if its really messed up, you need to defrag/clean up/defrag/ clean up... Rich |

Friend don't panic help is on the way! First of all save all your data, some important files, email addresses and such to a disc. Now, get your restore disk that came with your computer and estore it to the original default settings it came with. Don't don't forget all your passwords and internet connection info. This will restore your computer to the performance it came with. You will be suprised as to how well it will work again if you use it just for the internet. Does it meet the minimum requirements to run the program, clearly listed on the game box?
Windows 2000/XP 1.3 GHz Intel Pentium 3, or AMD. 512 MB of RAM 2.5 GB of Hard Drive space Direct X 8.1 and this is the minimum to run the game. Recommended specification is also listed. I have a fairly modern machine and I can only run the game at all the lowest graphic setting at the moment. This is like most game at the time of release, they are designed to run with technology at the time of its development. The game needs a good graphics card and 1 GB of ram to run right. My frame rate with the detail and resolution turned up is like 12 frames per second. That is terrible. I can get up to 25 with the graphics and resolution at minimums, but it looks like the first Playstation graphically. I just can't swing the card I want at $350.00 and another stick of ram, $75.00 at the moment. |

My kids have their own PCs to keep them off mine. However, I still have to clean theirs up occasionally removing all the crap they install, trojans, spyware, etc. This stuff usually runs in the background and eats up resources. Get a copy of adaware or something similar to help get rid of this stuff.

If you have the model number of your 8770C system you can look it up to see what the default configuraiton is. Go to this url and look up your model number.
HP 8770C info Then look at what North Bay said above and compare it to your system. If I am reading it correctly your system does not meet the minimum requirements for GTL but then again I could be wrong. Mike |

I built my computor from scratch for just under 300 bucks.
1.8ghz 16gb Flash Hd 40gb Hd 768k ram Etc. Software makes it much more expensive. My XP pro cost 99$ WITH my student discount. |

i just bought a box for my office at fry's. 2.8GHz, 140 GB HD, 128MB Graphics, 1G of RAM ... $300 i used to build my own computers for many, many years, it's just not very economical anymore. plus, i've already learned anything one could possibly learn about the internals of computers, so that drive is somewhat gone ... been building my own computers since the early '80s ... funny thing is, even after 25 years, the internal components have not changed much. they got better, yes, but it's still the same layout. MB, CPU, RAM, HDs, CDs, power supply, fans. even the stuff on the motherboard is still the same. did you know that you could significantly speed up the data transfer from your floppy on a C64 by turning off the graphics card? or did ya'll know that if you take a NEC multispeed laptop (8086 CPU laptop) and open the back panel and take out all of the rom chips without rebooting or turning off, 'mem' will show 720k ram instead of 640k? and then if you put them all in backwards they'll heat up real hot and give you blisters and then self-destruct...
