i also doubt he would break up a 3 gear set..... he may sell you the whole set tho (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/chairfall.gif) BRANT, so you cut off the F off 2nd and welded it to a first gear center? very cool.... |

basically...
except I don't believe its welded back on to a center. I think its machined/splined in its center. and the main shaft is machined also so as to be similar to a 904 (takes a sacrificial main shaft to do the job) now If I could just get a freakin Diff for this box, it could be reassembled.... I hope the diffs are available soon. brant |

I do like the welded diff and I still have one in the current A, F, K/L, S, X box that is installed in the car. And the way things are going, it seams I will get to enjoy this welded diff longer than expected.
but I wanted to try something different and after a bunch of research (phone calls to Paul Guard and actual back to back track testing from my builder) I decided to go with a TB diff for the new box. I wouldn't even be building a new box, except my old box has the -4cylinder gears and I'm getting killed with that gearing on the -6. so as long as we are building a new box we decided to try something different for the diff. Yep... waiting on the guard TB. (and starting to fear that I will never get it) brant |
