So I talked with Garrett about a plan for Tuesday, June 1. Weather permitting, we want to get him into his car for a little cruise through the area with an escort of 914s. The logistics of getting him into the car require that the top be off, so if it rains we'll have to make a plan B.

Plan A would be for us to meet at his house any time after 6:00pm with a departure of 6:30 to cruise for half an hour or so. We would then come back to has place and order up some pizza from next door and have dinner in his back yard.

His address is 1427 Olympic View Drive, Edmonds

Keep us posted on the tranny. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

So I know we figured on the pizza place next door so I'm not planning on bringing any food, just money.......for food, tools and things to help wrench on his 914.

Hopefully the weather gets a little better by the 1st. Should be a good time!

Got the tranny in. Car is drivable. R-1-2-3-4-5 work. 2nd is a bit squirly. Really soft touch to get it in 2nd. Impossible to downshift to 2nd. Other than that...works ok. Back on the road.

I will try and be there provided I can get all the air out of my brake lines. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
New Eric PMB calipers, rotors and lines. 6 hours of bleeding brake fluid the old fashioned way and 2 hours with a motiv pressure bleeder has gotten me close to having a break pedal, but still not quite there yet.
Hopefully I'll get 'er done in time to join in the fun!

Wow the length of this thread is epic! I just spent a good hour or so reading through various parts and eyeing some of the sharp photos hiding in this thread!

Inspires me to start a similar weekly gathering here in the Mid-West; keep up all the 914 cookouts and keep the high-res photos coming West-Coast teeners! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

"Teener Tuesdays" have been going on for years now. Same nutty core group of teeners always seems to wind up causing trouble. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Mark - So good to hear you got your 914 back on the road. The 2nd gear thing is kind of common. Some stuff can help, we'll fill you in Tuesday.

NORD - If you drive down with something that can haul a front LE spoiler, let me know. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Dan

I check weather the day before and give you a call.

I'll bring those rear wheel rods also. Did I tell you I

broke another Sears breaker bar on the other nut!

Thank you Sears for two replacement 1/2" breaker

bars. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

NORD, I owe you one for keeping your word all these years and hanging onto those parts for me. I really appreciate it!

Let me know if you need my number (I have yours). If you wind up coming down, I can bring the spoiler with me.
