I can do the Smokey Point Rest Stop at 7:45 too. Thats where I live... (Smokey Point not the rest stop!) Isn't that a bit early for 9:14 in Bellingham though?

Nord lives out in cow country b'tween b-ham and lynden.... so i add a little time.

and we'll wait til 'bout 8 or so before we leave to let the slow pokes greenie and kelty show up.... ah maybe we'll leave right at 7:45 before kelty gets there!

OK, we'll be at the Smokey Point Rest Stop by 8:00. Just remember, if you leave without us, we'll hunt you down. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fighting19.gif)

Mark, would you have room for the 'kid' if he decides to go?

set dwell then set timing.

are you using a dwell meter or are you setting them by gap?

oh no!!!

good news and bad news.....

i think i found my no start with the key problem... i fiddled with the connections at the reley board and now she starts every time!!!!

thats the good news....

the bad news....

i now have a pretty bad lifter knock that does not change from pulling plug wires, looks like i either bent a push rod or [most likely] droping a valve seat (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) .

well i'll have to drop the engine and do all the things that i was saving to do at once, clean and reseal, back date H/E change all vac and F/I hoses.

and find out if i have a bad head or not!!!

i might be looking for a good used 1.8 head.

before you guys start flaming about using a used head let me remind you all that there is no way i can afford new or rebuilt heads.... no way, no how right now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

a nice quit day off. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

coming down i was running 6k rpm thru the hairpins. i think i just got the heads hot and when i stopped at the resturant the head cooled down enough that when i left the seat started to drop. it wasn't making any noise when i restarted at the resturant but when i stopped to get Lilli it was making lifter noise pretty bad. like a collasped hyd lifter. i was hoping it was just hot thin oil and would stop when the oil and engine cooled down.

That sucks Troy! It was running strong today too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) shoot me a message if you want or need help tearing it down. I still have a LOT to learn about these cars!

On a side note, anyone want to go to the Everett Silvertips / Portland Winterhawks game Wednesday? Wife can't go and I have 2 good tickets!
