pretty tippy on the rear. like able to pick/rock the car up by hand. long span for the lift arms, hard to find good spots for the arms with no jacking doughnuts on the floor and the bulk of the weight is well rear of the arm/lift centerline. you can tell where floor jacks have been used in the past to raise the car.

Hey guys - been a while since I last posted, intro page 233. Got the car back from Eurotech in the spring but haven't had time to work on it until recently. Here's a picture of the car fresh from the shop:

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/farm9.staticflickr.com-14259-1388642101.1.jpg)

I'm currently refurbing the headlight assemblies and I'm looking for the following parts:
1) Black plastic "Protection Cap" (headlight mechanism covers) - need both sides
2)Backing plate for outboard headlight pivot bracket
3) headlight stop screw (M8 with oversized head and slotted on the threaded end)

If any of you have these parts to sell I'd appreciate it! Thanks,

Derek

That is a good looking roller (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif)

What year and I like that rear valance. Those steel wheales will also look great.

Thanks! Eurotech did an amazing job with it. It's a 72, I have a set of Pedrinni's that will go on eventually.

Looks great, Post some more photos.

Happy to, bit more about the project first. I repaired the hell hole and concluded that body work was not for me so Eurotech took it from there. They repaired the seal channels around the targa seal and front trunk, fitted replacement doors (thank you 914world members), fitted sway bars (ditto), stripped the exterior and undercoating, deleted the radio antenna, repaired the rear trunk lid, fitted a new left jack point and new rocker covers, reworked the front and rear valances (think the rear is from a six so will have to adjust the tailpipe), removed numerous dings and resprayed most of the car including the underside, trunks and engine compartment. Original color was Willow green and I think this is close if not the same.

Couple more photos

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/farm9.staticflickr.com-14259-1388735612.3.jpg)

Relative to the power plant, the heads were cracked and other parts were worn, so the engine was rebuilt to a little over 2.0 L, balanced and cammed for carbs by NW connecting rod. Transaxle has been rebuilt.

The front bumper has bee rechromed, I'm this far in so I'll have the rear rechromed to match. Hood/trunk latches and other hardware will be sent off for yellow nickel plating.

So now to refurbing individual components and re-assembly. Headlights as of this evening:

Anybody have a source for yellow CAD plated sheet metal screws or socket head cap screws? Is 914rubber a good source for seals?

Just thinking here. Do you think there's enough skill between us all to do an engine assembly workshop of my 3.0. The fellow who is doing my machine work is open to doing just part of the job and then turning it over to me to finish up. So would you be interested in helping and/or do you have any idea what it will take?

I would love to watch and help but haven't done a -6 so far so my ability to really help is limited.

My list of things to do is feeling a bit overwhelming. Anyone who'd like to come by to help out this Saturday or Sunday is welcome to food and drink.

Tom is coming by this Saturday morning to give me a hand with the wiring. If you have a need to help out with some assembley work, the more hands, the better.

I plan on helping Billy get some electrical issues straight. If anyone has some knowledge on converting a /4 to /6 electrically, let us know. Does an early 2.7 require a voltage regulator? Research I have done indicates it does, just not sure. I thought 911 engines had an internally regulated alternator.
Thanks,
Tom

I just finished my 5-lug conversion and we're trying to move so I'm motivated to pass some of this stuff along to anyone who could use it. Thought I'd try our private thread before posting in the official classifieds. I know the 4 lug stuff is pretty much "dime a dozen" but if you need something you need it. Let me know, here's what I've got...

4 2.0 liter Fuchs. DD condition refinished by EUROTECH a couple years ago. Still look good, but short of perfect. Black insets, running Bridgestone Potenza's all-seasons 195/55/15 with plenty of tread left.
1 Steelie spare, original spare to my car, probably never used. Has a 165/15 on it. Holds air just fine.
Powder coated early/pinch struts, powder coated dust shields
Front rotors with plenty of life left
Front calipers still gold looking, plenty of pad left
Rear hubs

I'm not expecting to make up the cost of my conversion and happy to give anyone local a good deal if they can use any of this.

I've also got an alternator for free to anyone that wants it. Unknown condition.

Anyone know a decent somewhat local upolstery shop to do a recover on my side bolsters? Have someone lined up to re-do the back and bottom, but they won't touch the bolsters. Not necessarily looking to go stock either. $500 JUST for material is a little steep IMHO.

If any of the locals get together plz email me. I don't always check in here.
I've owned a 914 for about a year now and would love some additional eyes on my car to guide me on what to do about some rust issues, I don't think they are bad at all, but I really don't know these cars.

I think it was Messix that was driving by one day in her work truck and chatted me up a bit. Guess he spotted the car from the highway, nice guy.

Anyways, appreciated.

Movin' up. We're heading to Gig Harbor in May. The current plan is to get a travel trailer and put it at a Gig Harbor RV park until we build or find a place to buy.

I'll be there next week, Tuesday & Wednesday to finalize the trailer and intend to move the following week - to arrive on May 1.

So, if/when there are breakfasts, lunches, dinners, drives my yellow car should be there.

I'm ordering a new rear trunk pan from Restoration Design.
Does anyone have any recommendations for someone in the Puget Sound who could cut and weld the new metal in?

Thanks-
Greg
