(IMG:style_emoticons/default/burnout.gif) on Jim! Way cool. I have to say that you are putting down a lot more rubber than he is and that does help on the launch.
I am talking with Jeff about the Orange car. We will talk again after he has the motor in and it is running. So, Tueday might be a Passat night for me.

Next Tuesday (Sept 12) should work for me. The town of Snohomish would be a good destination, especially Fred's Rivertown Alehouse (good food).

Its early but count me in!!
Haven't driven her in three weeks and a drive to Snohomish would help stretch out the legs.

Not positive yet, but Jim and I will more than likely be going. We'd be leaving from either Puyallup or Tacoma. We don't normally head out till about 6:30 or so though. I should REALLY get a new speedo cable in before then if possible though. It'd be really nice to have a general idea of how fast I'm going. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Oh ya, and is this a no minors joint? My girl is 20 and I really wanted to go somewhere where I can bring her along. She deserves it; my teener is my birthday present from her. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Jeff,

Thanks! Great to have joined the family. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

And don't worry I remember that the car's got 15 years or so on me.
Hell, that's one of the things I absolutely love about it.

Well, enjoy the tech show and we'll see ya when you get back.

"short red-light green light race in puyallup". start saving for your backup transmission, sourcing cv joints, and the "comparing speed" tickets. look for a few rear trailing arms for when you put your car into a curb. ask jim how much fun that is.

I'm actually not into hauling ass everywhere I go. I was just interested in seeing how mine would compare to Jim's. (One time kinda deal, 2 blocks from a slow roll with the clutch out.) I received more than my fair share of speeding tickets in my Infiniti when I was in highschool and am not in any hurry to receive anymore. (Haven't so much as been pulled over in over 2 years. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ) I know how sensitive these transaxles are and have been keeping that at the front of my mind. I'd much rather just cruise and enjoy myself than bring my drivetrain to an early death. I'll push the car a little; but I'm not going to beat the hell out of it.

And far as Fred's, that'll work for me then. Just wanted to make sure I bring her with.
