hey guys - i received this from LeMay - here you go - this vote is today 2/10/20!!!

Classic car tabs increase

The Department of Licensing is introducing House Bill 2373 (HB2373) in the House Transportation Committee. This bill will require you to register (pay tabs) on your collector cars every five years rather than only once per lifetime of current owner. This bill will significantly increase the cost of your collector cars tabs, this bill will pass without you voicing your objection to this increase. The vote takes place on Monday, February 10th and they need to hear from you ASAP. Please contact as many of the committee members and let them know to vote NO on HB2373. Here is a link to the committee directory and a link to the proposed change in the bill.

Please be brief, direct, and polite when leaving a message. You are free to use your own words or try a variation of the following script:

Hello my name is [Name], I'm contacting you to request that you vote NO on House Bill 2373 that require classic cars to be registered every five years, rather than only once per lifetime of current owner. Classic cars are rarely driven and this is an unfair burden to those of us that only take the cars out for a drive a few times a year. Thank you.

as did I:
Hello I'm contacting you after learning of the existence of House Bill 2373.
I am significantly alarmed & concerned after reading the bill.
First it provides no causation for the bills existence, what problem is it trying to solve?
From the notes in the bill it seems there is still unknown impact from this legislation due to its very narrow audience?
As a business that caters to this audience and as an owner of several of such vehicles to be impacted, I do not see the reason to waste legislative focus on this bill and would request that you oppose any committee furtherance or vote NO on House Bill 2373. Classic cars (those defined as being over 30 yrs old!) are rarity on the roads due to their value & are infrequently driven. This is an unfair burden to those of us enjoy this hobby & moreover those of us small business that support this collector segment.
Thank you.

I emailed my reps as well.

Related note- I wish they’d allow vanity collectors plates.. Last I checked it wasn’t possible. Doing so would bring in additional revenue.

I’d also be ok with increasing the requisite age for collectors plates to be 35 or even 40 years old. Anytime I see a mid 80’s car will collectors plates it seems kind of silly. But I’m probably in the minority there.

Nothing from the reps and I checked the box indicating that I wanted a reply. I’m working on the editing myself. Working with videos is more work that I knew. Thankfully the program has tutorials

Just pleased I don't live in the ST3 area. The valuation system DOL uses is fucked up too. Wait til they figure out what a 914 is worth these days. Or a 67' T-1. The condition of the car is not in their wheelhouse.

How are you not in the ST3 zone Kevin? My parents live clear out off 200th near Gem Heights and are still in the zone. Please bestow your magic upon me! $300 to register a Golf is straight up THEFT. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif)

On a separate note, mind if I borrow your address for official purposes? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

They live in Puyallup. I live in Pierce county. They have the Sounder at their convenience. Tabbing the cruiser was around $110. A month's worth of coffee for some people.
