My 9/14 weekend plans are almost ready to publish. Presently, the fun will begin on Saturday 9/13 immediately after the PNW party for PCA’s 70th anniversary is over. That would be between 11:00 and noon. If you want to join the PCA function it’s open to everyone and will be held at Hagerty’s One Driver Club in Redmond. The plans for what they will be doing should be released tonight and I’ll fill you in when I know what’s going on. Our 914 activity will begin at that facility and will begin withan afternoon drive. I’m working on making the tour into a gimmick rally. You really need two people in the car to be competitive as answering questions while driving can be challenging. You can always just join in the drive and ignore the questions. Let me know your option of including the gimmick part of the drive. We’ll end the tour at a pizza place.

Sunday morning we’ll have a pancake breakfast at my neighborhood’s community center in Orting. It has plenty of room for everyone and the parking is plentiful. I’m putting together a presentation with a special guest and there will be a question and answer segment. The presentation will be over the internet. I could use some help with the tech part of this endeavor if anyone out there has experience in this world. Next we’ll be doing a tour to Wynoochee Dam in near Montesano. The drive there will be on back roads and promises to be an exercise in making corners. When we arrive there will be an afternoon picnic. We can either have food provided or everyone can bring their own. Again, express your opinion. I’d like to collect a small enrollment fee to help cover costs and if I’m providing the picnic lunch, I’ll account for that when I calculate the amount. As always feedback helps. If you don’t plan to attend, your 2 cents doesn’t count. Hope to see many of my old friends.

Anymore news on this?

Dang, I wish this site were easier to follow like it was years ago and we could get email updates when there was a post. I also had no idea there was another thread for PNW gatterings. I'd been waiting since it was posted that the details were almost ready to publish. Sounds like a fun event, I'll try to pay closer attention, it's been too long since I last met many of you in Gig Harbor years ago.

Happening Saturday. I plan to go if it doesn’t rain too much. Looks like early morning rain and then mostly clouds the rest of the day.

Cool, if I can get my 914 brakes done, I'll go as well.

Might do that instead, no 914 though. Even if parts showed up today, won't have time to finish everything before the weekend. Probably drive the Bug though.

Mark your calendars. I’m planning another breakfast on February 7th and this time our digital speaker will be Eric Shea. I’ll be holding it at our Orting club house and if the weather looks good maybe we can do a short drive. Any volunteers to help with making this happen are welcome.

As I'm getting super excited for spring, I'd love to get a local 914 event on my calendar. Does anyone have anything planned or is interested in planning something with me. Also, it'd be great to get a NW 914 club started. Does anyone else have any interest in getting something like this created? Thanks! Mike

There's always been a pretty strong local group of 914-nuts. Better weather is right around the corner and local gatherings are always fun.

I miss the gang we had going back in the day. Dan, Troy, Rich, Jon, Geoff, Marc, Greenie, Robert, Jim, etc, etc, we had a regular meet with several cars back at the end of the 2000's. Time flies... like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.

James I may have a solution to your FRUNK project.

Perhaps you can use the effort as an excuse to gather the faithful like the old days. to pitch in or at least look over your shoulder as you do the work to tell you how you are doing it all wrong (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
@Rand I to miss those times, but you are only in OR make the drive back up here!
@Root_Werks Dan is still active, I heard he moved back to the mainland? His car is pretty sorted!
@Messix I talk to Troy from time to time his car hasn't moved from his garage in YEARS which I give him grief about at every instance.
@PeeGreen 914 Jon traded a SC targa tail dragger for a /6 a few yrs back but I don't know where he is on that car or even if he still has it.
@Bleyseng Geoff's a globe trotter these days. He gave/sold his car to his son Blair & happens to be at my shop awaiting floorpans.
@Kelty360 Marc's got several things going on between his Bee & his 74 2.0L which is at my shop now for some brake work
@Greenie Curt is in Wenatchee ? so rarely hear from him but I think his car is still stellar.
@rjames Robert is still active. Hes got young'uns so hes probably attending sports meets nowadays.
@Sportlicherfahrer Jim has a NICE signal orange teener now but I know he also bought a Cayman so
he may be showing some love to the new steed.
@PanelBilly Billy moved to orting (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) but is still active in the PCA if not the 914 specific crowd.
@sixnotfour Jeff moved to Utah, we talked recently & he was just planning a trip back up this way.
@Bruce Hinds Bruce You need to get on a ferry! We haven't seen you on this side of the sound in a while.
@Rhodyguy Kevin I havent heard a lot from in some time, I'm not sure if he has his car anymore or if he does what condition its in
@Scallyk9 Bens still active. Im sure he'd be up for some fun with either his Bee or /6.
@effeueto Chris Moved to San Diego but I understand his Suby Conversion is all but done.
@TC 914-8 Tony is still active when hes not playing golf
Todd I havent heard from in a while, nor Rocky nor Darren or Brad

There are a host of newer folks Ive failed to mention but those are some of the old timers.
