I will be in Seattle all day so this works great for me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb3d.gif) I'll just have to take the 914 to work - Bummer.

Just make sure you guys post some pics- full time school & full time work is going to keep me out of the meet-ups for awhile! I'll be lucky if I find the time to remove and replace the broken clutch cable this weekend. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Although I probably won't be able to make it anytime soon, I vote for a drive to Leavenworth some time. Or a group trip to Camp914 to drool over Craig's merchandise. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

QUOTE(Bleyseng @ Oct 4 2006, 08:54 PM) *

I have driven a 260hp 3.2L 914 and it was scary fast. Why do you need that much HP?

I can see the "I need a newer powerplant", but I don't buy the 300/300 I have to have for a DD.

My son, Blair had a 300hp Turbo2 RX7, and what a beast with that much power.

Who are you going to race on the clogged freeways around here? The average speed seems like 20 mph.

The 914 is only my daily driver for the time being. Until I work out the transmission issue with my Infiniti. Then the 914 will be a weekend warrior/sunny day driver of sorts. So by the time it'll have 300/300 it won't be my daily. It'll be more for track by then.

And why do I need it? Because it can be done and be incredibly reliable with almost no required maintainence. More fun, less work.

And who said anything about freeways? Let alone clogged ones. I'm assuming you're referring to the King County area. Freeways down here and up around Bellingham (my weekend residence) are normally pretty open, at least at the times I drive them.

Also I'm looking at doing the STi swap. So it's not as if I'm buying an engine and then modding the hell out of it to pull those numbers. I'm just buying a stock, readily available, late model, reliable engine for a decent price.

If I don't do the STi, it'll receive a JDM WRX engine ($3,500 with 28,000 miles) which is still a 283hp 2 liter. I just can't beat the reliability and numbers for that kind of price.

Back on topic, I'm not going to be able to make it this week. I have some family in from Tennessee and am spending Monday through Wednesday with them.

Maybe next week.

never mind.... it's running now, just couldn't let it go. went back down and found blown fuse on relay board and like a big dummy left the air valve plug unpluged, got it started, new points and cap, timed , dwelled, running like a champ.

Seattle's out of my range tonight.

South Sounders:
Any interest in crashing Kevin P's house for tonight's Teener Tuesday? I have an ulterior motive - loot Kevin's parts stash to help him raise $$ for his traffic infringement. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif)
(sorry to volunteer your pad Kevin - you can overrule of course)

Possibly. I might have to run up to the Seattle meet to borrow Geoff's D-jet tester. So if that's the case, the southern deal won't work for me. But if someone down this way has a spare ecu i can bum I'll be cool with staying in the south end.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) Hey kevin, you wouldn't happen to have one collecting dust in your parts stash that I can borrow to see if mine's fried would ya?

I won't be able to do it there. The car won't stay running, so it's stuck in my garage till I figure out what's wrong with it. (Thus the need for an ecu to test)
