I was in Stowe this weekend too. Not with the teener, though.
Saw neither 2002s nor 924s. Was there a special event ?

oh really? No special event, just nice weather so people had their old cars out. I saw one guy getting his 924 out of winter storage, another guy was ripping one around the mountain roads.

I think people here just hold onto old cars.....

Terrible winter for skiing, but I agree the sun was nice up here this weekend....

I actually got married up here this weekend in a small family ceremony at the Stowe Inn. Where were you staying?

thank you! Yes I still get to drive the teener, she likes to ride in it but is too afraid to drive it.

I'll have to check out that vermont VW club. That would be fun to cruise up there over the summer and hit the car show.

Boston caravan anyone?

I've driven my 914 up there a few times from NYC. About 4yrs ago I made the trip in a snowstorm - never again... However, a couple times in early/mid fall have been a pleasure!! Those mountains were made for this car!!

hehe my GF was actually looking forward to learning how to drive stick. so i took her out to an empty parking lot w/ the 914 and left the car in 1st gear. And she managed to not stall once! We jsut drove around the parking lot in 1st at a slow pace, while she balanced the throttle to prevent this jerking motion of the car. Didnt have her shift into any gears, b/c we all know how difficult it is to shift the 901 transmission even though it's a side-shift. I'm really proud of her (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
