while remodling one of the new shops for appearance & performance i discovered a honey bee nest in the wall! so i had to call in a bee expert to take them to a new home.it was the largest hive they have ever removed. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) glad to see em gone.

Takes them out to an almond grower once a year and charges $25,000.00... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/w00t.gif)

I am too... last time I was stung I drove myself to the hospital. After the shot, I was unable to drive. My fingers were so swollen that I could not hold the keys, and my face was so swollen that I couldn't put my glasses on.

hahaha

I used to keep 26 hives. You buy the bees in 5lb bee family packs, with the queen in a separate, internal box. You take the queen box out, put it in the hive, and dump the bees in the hive.

Great fun, unless it's near dark... and then they swarm.. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/unsure.gif)

I am allergic to wasps, and the like, but bee stings don't even hurt anymore. I have been stung 30+ times in a single event. (swarm) heh

Glad you called in the bee keepers rather tha buy the bee killer spray. Honey bees are getting to be extict. It almost seems rare to see a honey bee anymore. Eddy (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/aktion035.gif)

I used to live in a small house in the middle of a field. The wall that had the fireplace had a very big hive in it that during the winter would stay warm from the bees. It was very disconcerting having the buzzing sound all the time and the wall actually vibrated. Being alergic also did not help.

Wild honeybees were all but wiped out by mites and many beekeepers called it quits after dealing with heavy losses. The problem is somewhat under control and its good to see feral bees making a comeback.

Yup... you just pour them in like cornflakes (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) I've got four hives and been stung many times and pretty much everywhere. Let's just say that if you feel a bee crawling up the leg of your pants you should hope you get stung on the leg. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

does getting stung feel like when you pinch your finger between the bumper bolt and the hole where the bolt goes (didnt really hurt then bc it was REAL cold and I was just wanting to get the hood open...but it hurt afterwards), or is it less painful?
