I've just found an advertisment for a really hot /6 in Austria
it's not my prefered MY and colour, but I guess it's a beast (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif) a little pricy, though (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif) 1971 914-6 2.7 RS engine - 210 HP roll cage 7+8 x 15" Fuchs (IMG:http://www.ktv-krems.at/daniela.groll/sub/funkeaustria/914/00138_914w/0138001.jpg) (IMG:http://www.ktv-krems.at/daniela.groll/sub/funkeaustria/914/00138_914w/0138002.jpg) (IMG:http://www.ktv-krems.at/daniela.groll/sub/funkeaustria/914/00138_914w/0138003.jpg) (IMG:http://www.ktv-krems.at/daniela.groll/sub/funkeaustria/914/00138_914w/0138005.jpg) the seller is asking EUR 38,700 (~ US$ 45,000) if this one would be MY'70 and signal orange I'd sell my mother to get it (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/drooley.gif) Gustl |

Why do you prefer '70's rather than '71's? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) |

in addition this one is a little special, at least in Austria
it seems to be the only one that's street legal with this engine (in general you can't get a historic car street legal in Austria with another engine than original) this /6 was built from a Porsche Center in Austria on customer's demand about 10 years ago the engine is a real 2.7 RS, freshly rebuilt within the last months the whole car got a technical overhoul in this time the seller told me that it runs 150 mph and just 6.0 sec 0-60 mph (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wavey.gif) Gustl |

btw - olav, I've found a little mistake in your blog
on the one hand I'm happy to find my "3 GTs shot" there (IMG:http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/461/319/320/9146GT.jpg) but the text isn't correct none of these cars won '70 LeMans these are the Strähle GT, a factory test GT and the '71 Monte GT #1 this one is the GT class winning car: (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-2-1110751352.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wavey.gif) Gustl |

Thanks, I liked the pic. I'll just leave the mistake. I figured it out after I posted but thought "what the hey" and left it. Thanks for the correction though!! |
