A 1911 is better than stock, a lot of us started with one. But who can honestly say that they would be satisfied with a 1911. If you have the money build the motor you want. At lease get your self a 2.0 crank, rods and P/C"s, a good cam and lifters. I had my crank counter balanced and the flywheel cut to 12 lb's, rev's Great!
