well I've been working real hard lately to get the 1.7 in tip top, deal with issues etc. My dad was in town this weekend and I wanted her running her best. So we took a great cruise today and the car was running beautifully. That is, until we started smelling gas....
One of the rubber fuel pump mounts busted and in the process cut the pressure line on the clamp, and now its leaking like a civ... Two questions before I go hit the archives for the next 2 hours: 1) Do I need to pull the tank to replace these mounts? Sure looks like it god dammit 2) For new mounts, is there anything stopping me from using a threaded bolt/nut with a long rubber washer instead of the ridiculously expensive original mounts? the car ran better than it ever has today, and then it busted itself....
