I originally ran a cable from the cabin (just below the upper seat belt housing, coming through the firewall) under the carpet and up to the lock. The lock does not really work, but gravity pretty much keeps the trunk closed.

Whats the best designed mousetrap?

My car came with the electric solenoid, which has been nothing but a PITA day one. I picked up one of Engmans cable release kits and hope to install it this weekend.

I have a good solenoid mounted under the trunk with a s/s cable up to a hole drilled in the latch. Also a pull wire, just in case. Works fine but I think the small hole in the reflector to push on the latch is the best wat to go.
