I recently got a new speedo cable from PP with intentions of replacing my old one that needs it.

I'm kind of hesitating because the original one has a 19mm flange hex for a wrench while the relacement is a twist on to tighten with your hand and a visegrip or something.

Also, the rubber cover covering the cable flange connection is quite different.

I was wondering if this matters at all as far as factory goes or if I can get the same cable connector to-the-speedo-angle-drive still anyway?

I can keep the old cable just for posterity anyway.

Seems some parts are kind of morphing over time a little bit. But the parts that wear out seem to be far game to replace without fear of not being "original" I guess.
