This is my version of the factory tool for lifting the engine/tranny into the engine bay. It goes on your floor jack where the pad normally sits and balances the assembly, allowing one person to easily install their 914-4 engine without assistance. Price is $99 including shipping. I accept Paypal at c.foley at tangerineracing.com or check/MO at: CFR 101 Loomis St Manchester, CT 06042 edited to update price/payment info. |

Bottom view.
The pin is 1 1/8"dia. I can customize that if needed. I've been using my prototype of this tool for years and am totally happy with how it works. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Attached image(s) |

Chris how sturdy are these is it possible to do light wrenchin on motor when it's sittin on this??or will it wooble all over the place (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif) I have done some light work on my race engine with it on the jacking plate. It is a bit wobbly though and requires steadying. Dropping it down so the crossbar rests on a couple blocks of wood is a good approach. QUOTE will it work with a six? This plate does not work with a -6. The bottom of the engine is different and the CG is further forward. I plan to make them for 6cyl installations soon. |

Will this work with a "tuna can" installed, or any other sort of deep sump? A hole can easily be cut with a hole saw for a tuna can to fit through. I don't know what you can do to lift an engine with a deep sump, remove the sump first? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

Hi Chris,Would you by any chance have one of those engine jacking plates left.I thought putting one in the trailer for emergencies would be a good idea. Are they still $75 and do you know what shipping would be to 08844? Thanks, Tom B. |

Ron,
I have a prototype. It needs further development before I can release it as a product and I just haven't found time yet since I moved. |

Chris,
How's that development going on the 6 cylinder model? I'm about ready to drop my six in the next week or so, and would really like a more stable way of doing this by myself. If you need more development time, I'll volunteer to be a test pilot and let you know how it worked. Ship it to me, let me try it out, and I'll ship it back. We can talk in the meantime and I can give you the results. Let me know. If that doesn't work, I'm going to weld up my own. Dion |
