My wife and I are going but our cars (914and VW Cabby) nare not allowed in the show, I asked the chair and he denied entry. "The show is for air cooled vintage VWs only"

I was not permitted to enter either car because they are both watercooled.

Whatever, I will try to stop by anyway.

Mark, John & SMOGer's

Here's my take on the Ypsi. meet on Sunday May 21st. The flates (flood plain) along the Huron River is water soaked from all the rain. Once off the paved road & on the grass it's going to be mud & more mud. When this happened two years ago they moved it down the street into a parking lot. Cars were tightly packed together & it was not the same. I think this will happen Sunday. For me I am not going to take my car out in the mud. It's still in storage, no insurance yet and needs a good clean up. Weather will be sunny/cloudy in the low 60's with cool winds out of the NW w/ posssible rain showers. Burrrrr, I hate this kind of weather. You Cali guys have all the good weather.

Tom
BTW: I will be there, but it's only a 10% chance I'll drive my 914!!!!!!!

So I guess I will be the only 914 to attend? Come on group, I know some of you are going to showup.

Part of a email letter from Gary earlier this year:

". I know we typically start the season gathering at Sunday's VW Car Show May 21st 2006 in Ypsilanti, MI. hope to see many of you there.

Thank You,
Look forward to the new season

Hi All,

The 2006 VW Meet in Ypsi. turned out well. Rained ended in the early morning and roads were dry by 8:00A.M. The site was fairly dry and was a surprise to me. 914 turnout was light, because everyone expected bad weather (including myself). I will post pictures of the (3) 914's who attended on another post.

VW's were everywhere from the Great Lakes area. Good VW show & swap meet.

Tom
BTW: Swap meet area had a few 914 surprises (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap56.gif) .
