Without seems to make the car look mean. With, breaks up the lines and roof and is stylish. Without, I think a painted roof pulls it together nice. Hmn (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) if you have gt flares, no/blacked out trim and painted sail panel makes it look like a completely different car. it's the visual difference between pedestrian and bad-a$$. |

What do you do to the back of the sail panel if you do not want to use the chrome? Cut the seam and weld together? Any pics?

I am going to experiment a little with this, I have two tops one I will paint smooth, the other I will leave as original.
I am going to pick up some thin sheet magnet material and glue the sail vinyl to that leaving overhang to still tuck under the trim. If it works I can have it both ways. |

OK I'll bite. With loose vinyl sails and bra; before. Going to go without vinyl on restore, but keep all the trim intact- I like the separation of the targa bar that way. Somehow makes the car look fatter.
Saw a picture somewhere where the targa bar was painted with 3m Splatter Paint-looked really good. I am also pondering using a "hammered" finish. |

What do you do to the back of the sail panel if you do not want to use the chrome? Cut the seam and weld together? Any pics? That is exactly what i am doing. check my progress thread for pics (not to good, but they are there). (IMG:http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g75/GOPACK42/HPIM2816.jpg) |
