Probably coming back from Pep Boys. I was picking up over a gallon of ATF to put into the hydraulic pump for my new lift...

I made a suprising (to me) decision. I'm going to initially go with carbs. Trying to chase down the CIS parts I need will be a hassle I'm just not up for. Trying to get Megasquirt and EDIS running before even turning the engine over once is going to be too time consuming.

So, I'm going to run EDIS ignition and a set of Webers, and I'll do a Megasquirt fuel conversion at a later time (an MS ECU will control the EDIS). The car is already set up for carbs, and carbs are easy to get running. Plus, it occurred to me that a complete set of Webers with linkage, etc., actually have great resale value. A Motor Meister conversion kit is $2K, and I know I can sell a good set of carbs/manifolds/linkage for nearly $1500. $500-ish to "rent" a set of Webers for a year or so is not a bad deal at all, esp. considering how this simplifies getting the car converted and running.

I should start racking up some major credit card bills real soon now...

Sounds really smart James. Let me know if there's anything you need help with. I ready to lend a hand. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
