Anyone here have Toyota MR2 Mk I driving experience? Is the manual steering of the MR2 Mk I similar to the manual steering of the 914 in terms of road feel, effort and quickness of response?

I've driven several different early MR2s, though it's been quite awhile. I remember the MR2 has having unusually light steering. I also remember them as being fairly responsive, but not gigantically so. The feel changed pretty dramatically with tires, but that's true of nearly every car.

The 914 is medium in effort, and very responsive. Lots of feel. Mine has a fairly stiff front bar, so it's hard to judge it compared to nearly stock MR2s.
