(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Ok Topic is R. deck lid (or Boot) torsion rods.
You know the dangerous ones (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)
Ive noticed that on diferent chassis there is a hoop mounted to capture
the bars and on others there isnt (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
What is correct for a 74?

Rich,
Now I understand what you're subject matter is. On my '70 cars, the "hoop" is there. On my '74 parts car it isn't. You have a '73 and a '74, so what is on your cars? Why the hoop was installed, I have no idea. It doesn't seem to do anything.
Safety? For whatever reason, the factory deleted it in later years.

For those reading this, there is a centrally located hoop welded to the rear bulkhead of the engine compartment in which the torsion bars pass through. It is on the early cars, but not the later ones. When was it changed is what Rich is asking. Correct me if I'm wrong, Rich.

Pat,
Look in your engine compartment. Rear bulkhead. Do the torsion rods for the rear decklid pass through a 4" hoop?
