Has anyone used this service for the sale of a car.

I might have an overseas buyer (no funny business with checks that are too large, etc...) and they want to use escrow.com until I deliver the car to the shipping company.

anyone done this? what's the process? What are the risks?

John

I did some checking on this a while back, for a deal which turned out to be a total scam. I think the bottom line was that escrow.com is pretty much the only on-line escrow service that's licensed in California. My deal didn't go through, so I don't have any actual experience with the process, but I'm sure glad I took the time to check.

Good luck! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I used them when I bough my V8 car. The seller and car were in Minnesota. It was a good deal for me. There were more rust issues but we worked it out. Without the escrow I would have had no leverage/protection at all.
