tomorrow I will be rebuilding my webers and replacing distributor with I don't know.
I have a choice between a 009 and 050 distributor, i hear the 050 has a more rapid advance curve. the engine as it sits now is a 1.7 with a big bore (96mm) and two weber 40 IDF's.
So, which distributor would be best suited....

The 009 sucks, so I'd go with ANYTHING else. 050 should be good.

I'm going with the Compufire DIS-IX distributerless system for the 009 distributor. It wallups 65,000 volts and only cost 200$ off the shelf. Curls my hairs, tickels my balls and makes me schmit in my overalls.

The 009 doesn't have much advance and it comes on late. Set them on full advance and the motor stumbells at low speeds.

The 009 has about 17 degrees of advance, TOTAL! The 050 has 30-32 degrees. If you use the 009, you have to set the static (base) timing at 12-15 degrees, giving you a difficult time getting the idle down, among other things. No brainer, IMO. The Cap'n
