So what wideband O2 setup are you using with your Megasquirt? There's an Aussie WBO2 setup that looks interesting, it uses the cheaper $30 O2 sensors and comes in a kit form for a little over $100. You can get a digital display for it for $50 more. I'm thinking about getting one. I wonder how effective something like that is if you stick it into the tailpipe vs. making a bung for it closer to the heads?

My crank trigger is different than yours, but I have new pics of it on my SDS thread, if you want to check it out.

I have the DIY-WB O2 sensor. I wouldn't use it again. Pain in the butt board and the sensor is really expensive.

Once I got it going it's worked fine. I have it in a bung in the collector. Bungs, the only way to go as you need consistence for tuning. I've left mine in and run it in closed loop all summer. The only time that's been a problem is in the morning with the lights, blower, etc.
The DIY-WB needs 13.2 volts for the heater circuit and its difficult to provide that with our electrical system.. If I remember the WB you are looking at only need 11 V, quite an advantage.

Mark

I felt that the position I put the sensor in was the only one avalable as the sensor is pretty good size. I confident that portion of the project is going to be fine

I'm with Rich. This is the unit I have been looking at getting. The fact that it will record your AFR and RPM points in a log is key. That would be very very useful. Trying to look at an O2 guage and the tach and drive at the same time is not effective. I know. I've tried it. This unit with data-logging would be the way to go IMHO.

If you are running a megasquirt with a diy wb-02 you can do the datalogging thing - you get all the output from the serial port on the megasquirt, and megatune can do it all for you. MSTweak3k can even analyse it for you and tweak the injection map. It's pretty slick, it's just that the diy-wb is quote hard to build and test compared with the ms.

I was never able to get MSTweak to work well with my setup. I did datalog but that is too much information. That is an Excel file and probably could be fitered so it could be managable but I couldn't do it. I found it best just to drive and watch the O2 dial on the Megatune screen then make changes to get the desired results. High RPM and high load was very difficult since it was very difficult to duplicate the engine speed and vacuum. Still I got it pretty close on the street. To get it right I don't believe there is a substitute for dyno time. An hour and a half on the dyno really smoothed things out.

Incidentally, I have over 2000 miles on my Megasquirt and not a hint of a problem.

Hey Dave,

I picked up an EDIS modual and the coil pack today off an Escort, I now need to go back tommorow to get the 36-1 wheel and sensor. What model did you get your parts from?

Any special tools needed to get off the wheel?

I didn't have a 17mm or 19mm socket to remove the pulley (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Thanks,
