A few Pelican board guys got together for a canyon run in Calabasas/Malibu this am.
It was a very cool and foggy morning, which made for interesting driving. (IMG:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads2/stuntgelsons1064789684.jpg) The overgrown kids after a coffee break. (IMG:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads2/stuntgroup1064790117.jpg) Tyson Schmidt of TRE leading the pack during the first leg. (IMG:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads2/stuntysoncar1064790561.jpg) I swear officer, we never exceeded the posted speed limits! (IMG:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads2/Mulhaulin1064778892.jpg) The view from the top of Stunt Road / Saddle Peak was...foggy... (IMG:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads2/stuntfog1064790761.jpg) Nope officer, I didn't see a bright orange 914 race car speeding around here ??? (IMG:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads2/stuntCHP21064791095.jpg) Bottom of the hill group shot (IMG:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads2/DSCN00121064788064.jpg) Hmmm, what the hell is that Chebby doing with this crowd? (IMG:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads2/stuntelcam11064792241.jpg) Well, we met the guy up top on the mountain. Turns out this Chebby has a 427 CI big-block, relocated engine mounts, full cage, 6-speed vette trans, big brakes, 11" alloy wheels, accusump, oil cooler, MSD ignition, and various other mods. Neat car. (IMG:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads2/stuntelcamotor1064792709.jpg) Yawn...just another morning in p-car paradise! |

QUOTE(Scott Carlberg @ Sep 29 2003, 01:47 AM) Chris, could any of the 911s hang with you? Well...it wasn't a race (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) I did fine keeping up with them, esp. for having the smallest engine there. On the way down Piuma, I was in the front of the group and Jack Olsen was behind me (the black widebody 3.6 car). We were not pushing it really hard but opened up quite a gap from the rest of the guys. The 914 is perfect for these roads. |
