I've read on the Pelican site that you might need to modify the rain tray to make the Optima fit. Do any of you have any experience with this?
I'm considering this model:

Thanks.

No need to modify the rain tray. There is plenty of clearance.

I have one in my 914 and it doesn't even come close to hitting the rain tray. The red top fits, but the posts are backwards (that is what I have.) As I understand it, the orange top is the same size, but with the posts the right way. I wouldn't worry about fit though.

you may need to modify the hold-down, or get the proper hold-down adapter...

yes!
i have the red-top and i flipped it 180deg so the terminals would match my wires.
didn't get the adapter for the hold down, and sure enough, the battery came loose yesterday. went with a loud "chunck". not good (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
