Steve G and I have done a little work on this engine tin numbering already. On my 'Collectibles' website I have a webpage on Plates, Labels Markings...which shows the engine tin numbers identified to date. There is consistency in that the numbers seem to be tied to the engine codes, but thats the only commonality I have noticed.

Jeff went to your website and have a question (for you or anyone): what "code" would be on a 1974 1.8 (non Cali) engine tin? Also is the I.O. on all of them or just some of them?

Dunno on both accounts, Mike. If I had the info, I would post it for all to see.
