Since this seems like a good thread to vent: I was just putting together the poor quality, overpriced "changing table" for the baby's room. Piece "W" is broken, and naturally it's not a piece I can work around and fix later. The Canadian manufacturer is shipping me a replacement ASAP. But, according to the CSR, ASAP means 2 weeks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fyou1.gif) Ok, I'm not all that mad, but still pretty irked!

I sincerely hope your wife will make this all up to you. If you need anyone to testify on your behalf in court, we are all here for you.

(if he's got a lot of $, and no none else to leave it to, then think of the twin turbo you'll buy on his dime some day and let him do what he likes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) )

Allan,

Nicely handled. If it were me, I'd have said something like: "I really appreciate that you were trying to help me with the car, but I want you know that the car is very important to me, and I feel that you working on the car without asking me first shows that you don't understand how important the car is to me. In the future, please ask me before you work on the car, and I would always like to be present when you do any work. Again, I appreciate your willingness to help me on it, and maybe we can work together on it sometime."

Blah Blah... A mix of diplomacy and honesty without insulting him.

Good luck with the communication gap.

When I took him to Lowes he even commented that it would be a good place to get parts.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chairfall.gif)

There baaaaaccckkk!!!!

Yeah, mine are here too. I went to Starbucks yesterday afternoon or a little pick-me-up. My friend works there, he knows that I don't usually drink coffee late in the day. He asked me why, I said that I had to take a valium so that I wouldn't kill any in-laws. He laughed like crazy, but I wasn't kidding.
Just letting you know that I understand how it is.
Crazy.

You are lucky, if it was my father in law, I would come home to find one of the trunks full of potting soil, manure and flowers! (he is a florist)....actually I am dreading the day that actually happens.

I say find him a 914 project for a Christmas present!
