I found this when stripping the sound deadener off my floor board. Does this hazy gray coating look like some kind of rust preventative. This floor pan is original by the way.

Yeah I found the same stuff.....I think its just the primer/ etch primer. Galvanizing is an electroplating of zinc and galvanized steel just looks kinda metaly.

My '72 didn't have this, but my '73 (late) does
It looks the same as my '87 911
It's some kinda primer

The sheetmetal isn't galvanized though...

Yea. Strip all that shit off, clean it up with brake cleaner, make sur eyo metal ready it, and then Por-15 it
