I posted this on my progress thread but I thought I would do it here for a better search in the future. While rebuilding my 901, I needed a shift rod tool and didn't have one. I used a spare 901 (911) intermediate plate. All you need is an old race for the main shaft (from inside the case) that fits perfectly in the intermediate plate. The pinion shaft needs a spacer that I made in the lathe but you could use about anything as long as it was spaced equally all the way around. You can see the spacer at the end of the arrow. It worked great. $0
