I just picked up the Triad muffler that comes with the 2.6 I will be getting...got the heat exchangers too!
The Triad looks to be nicely made. Dual outlets. Not knocking build quality or anything...this is used and may have been tossed around for all I know. When I shake it back and forth, something clunks inside. I'm thinking a baffle has broken loose. Anyone know where it is supposed to be, or if there is more than one? I'd like to try repairing it before installation. Thanks, John www.ghiaspecialties.com |

They are glass packs and can fall apart if dropped. Maybe Dave E can repair it. I know David Said ran the glass packs backwards so they flowed more.

Hi Geoff,
I'm looking to repair it myself...guess I'll have to clean it up and see where baffles might have been welded in it by the slight impression in the surface where it shrank from the weld. Good luck huh? Thanks, John www.ghiaspecialties.com |

john, my guess is it was not produced by dave ellison. if you look closely on the back side of the flanges(muffler side) there should be a serial #stamped into it. is it a dual outlet or a single, like the one on my car? a 2.6 is a bit big for h.e.'s as i understand it. esp with the setup on that motor.
